Giving up Lent for Cake

The 10-year Streetphoto of the Week eMail exhibition began in the summer of 2006 as a way to slowly lure myself back into writing street photography books. Between August 1997 and April 2003 I'd started and finished three of them at great risk to both my physical and mental balances -- one of them at the foot of an exploding volcano and another under the 2001 air war at Tora Bora in the Pakistan/ Afghanistan Tribal Belt. During the 520-week exhibition (about once a month) I write up the back story to one of the photographs, and at the end of five years, and then again at the end of ten, I'll be releasing a two-volume set of those streetphotos and their back stories titled; Giving up Lent for Cake.
